Trump emphasized the strength of the partnership between the two nations, describing it as a unique friendship. During a joint press conference with the British Prime Minister, he asked that his gratitude be conveyed to the King for the invitation. He stated that he looked forward to confirming the visit on behalf of the United States.

Earlier, during a meeting in the Oval Office, Keir Starmer handed the President of the USA a letter from the monarch.

Donald Trump was invited by King Charles III for a second state visit to the United Kingdom. The President of the USA accepted the invitation.

The Prime Minister described it as an unprecedented event, while Trump stated that the visit would take place in the "near future." He emphasised that it is a great honour not only for him but also "for our country."

- It’s a great honor because it’s never happened before. It’s not for me; it’s respect for our country - added Trump.

Trump's previous visit to London as the American leader was in 2019. At that time, he and his wife Melania were received at Buckingham Palace by Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla, the then-heir to the throne.

Starmer's visit to the White House
