Trump interrupts Starmer at joint conference, causes stir
During a joint conference with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Donald Trump interrupted Keir Starmer's statement. The White House explains the President's behaviour.
During the joint appearance of US President Donald Trump and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, an unexpected situation occurred. At the press conference, a journalist asked Starmer about the alleged plans of Trump regarding the annexation of Canada. Prime Minister Starmer emphasised that discussions with the US President primarily concerned trade cooperation and security in Ukraine.

Starmer noted that the issue of Canada was not discussed and highlighted the close relations between the USA and the United Kingdom. At this moment, Trump interrupted the Prime Minister and said, "That's enough," suggesting moving on to the next question. This gesture provoked reactions among internet users, who speculated that the President was trying to silence the British Prime Minister regarding Canada.
The White House swiftly responded to these speculations. On the X platform, it was stated that Trump was not addressing Starmer, but the journalist.
"Fake News. President Trump was clearly talking to the reporter trying to goad the leaders into division," stated the announcement.
Trump and Starmer also discussed trade issues, and Trump expressed a desire to sign a trade agreement between the countries. However, the American President suggested that the United Kingdom might not avoid tariffs, though Starmer was doing a "great job" trying to persuade him otherwise.
The British Prime Minister handed Donald Trump a letter from King Charles, inviting him to make a state visit to the United Kingdom. Trump accepted the invitation.
