Pope Francis's condition is described not as critical but as complex, according to Vatican sources.

It was reported that the Pope had breakfast, regularly reads newspapers, and continues his treatment and respiratory physiotherapy.

What about the Sunday prayer?

It is not known what form the Sunday noon Angelus prayer will take. The content of the pope's reflections has been published for the past two weeks. Unofficially, it is known that Francis would like to appear at the window to the faithful gathered at the Gemelli Polyclinic in Rome this time. A decision on this matter is expected by Saturday.

The Vatican press office announced that Cardinal Angelo De Donatis, the Major Penitentiary, will lead the Ash Wednesday ceremonies on the Roman Aventine as his delegate in place of the unwell pope.

For now, it is uncertain how long Francis will remain in hospital. The pope was admitted there in mid-February due to pneumonia. For several days, he also experienced breathing difficulties.
