The crime occurred early Saturday morning, around eight o'clock Greenwich Time. Reports from the Bild newspaper revealed that a group of four Ukrainian girls, aged 12 to 17, were allegedly on the prowl in Käthe Kollwitz Park in Meissen, Saxony, looking for a victim. Unfortunately, they set their sights on another teenager.
In a chilling sequence of events, they assaulted her and forcibly took her to the ruins of an abandoned house. There, they handcuffed and subjected her to repeated beatings. The ordeal lasted an excruciating five hours, during which the girls are said to have used a bat, among other means, to inflict pain. Disturbingly, they might have also recorded the attack with a mobile phone.
The nightmare ended when the attackers released their victim, who was able to call for help immediately afterwards. The 13-year-old was rushed to a hospital, receiving the urgent care she needed.
The police were quick to respond, managing to track down the four Ukrainian suspects. They are currently under investigation for deprivation of liberty and grievous bodily harm.
Authorities are looking into the possibility that the assault was recorded. "This is subject to further investigation. We have confiscated smartphones," a police spokesperson disclosed to the Bild. The motivations behind this heinous act by the teenage group remain a mystery.
