The future of Biden in the White House race was discussed by his campaign chair on MSNBC.

Jen O'Malley Dillon admitted that after the recent slip-ups, support for Biden has "dropped," but she assured that the president "absolutely remains in the race" and still "has a chance to beat Trump".

- Joe Biden is more committed than ever to defeating Donald Trump - she stated.

Will Biden withdraw? Pressure from Democrats increases

Meanwhile, as reported by the American media, Democratic leaders unofficially urge Joe Biden to withdraw from seeking re-election this weekend. This is related to the enormous pressure that "has become unbearable in recent days," reports the American portal Axios.

"Publicly, he remains under pressure. But privately, he has reconciled with growing pressure, weak polling, and untenable control, which prevents him from continuing the campaign," sources from the portal claim, among which are prominent Democrats.

Informants also emphasise that "top politicians in his party, his friends, and key donors believe that he cannot win, cannot change public perception of his age and sharpness of mind, and cannot secure a majority in Congress," adds the American portal Axios, which was founded in 2016 by journalists previously associated with the Politico portal.

- His choice is whether he wants to be one of the heroes of history or ensure that there will never be a Biden presidential library - said one of the president's close friends to the portal. - I pray that he does the right thing. He is heading in that direction - he emphasised.

Key debate with Trump

Doubts related to Biden's age and health condition had already surfaced earlier. They increased only after a debate organised by CNN between the current president and Donald Trump. During it, Biden's problems became evident, who - despite performing better than Trump on content - lost image-wise. He seemed confused and his thoughts slipped away.

Biden himself later admitted that he was "sick" during the debate and that his health condition affected his performance that day. At the same time, the president emphasised that if necessary, he would undergo neurological examinations.

Portal Axios also reports that Biden met with Democratic leaders. "The president told both leaders that he is the party's candidate, plans to win, and looks forward to working with both of them to push through his 100-day agenda to help working families," the White House told the portal. Joe Biden is currently in isolation due to a positive COVID-19 test, which he announced himself on social media.
