The spokesperson for Nassau police, Patrick Ryde, confirmed a "suspicious incident" before Donald Trump's rally on Long Island. According to unofficial reports, explosives were found in one of the cars by the authorities.

- Reports of explosive materials found at the scene are unfounded - assured Ryde.

He added that the individual currently being questioned likely trained a dog to detect explosives. - The individual with the bomb-detecting dog falsely reported finding explosive materials and is currently detained by the police - he noted.

Earlier, witnesses were reported to have noticed suspicious behaviour from one of the drivers, who hastily left the car and ran into the woods.

Another alarm before Trump's rally

This is another instance where suspicions of an attempt on Donald Trump's life have arisen. On Sunday, a man was detained while hiding in the bushes near the fence of Donald Trump's golf club, armed with an AK-47 with a scope. According to the police, he was approximately 300-500 metres from Trump. After gunfire from the Secret Service, the man fled, abandoning the weapon in the bushes.

The most serious incident occurred on 13 July during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. The Republican candidate was non-critically shot in the ear. If the bullet had hit just a few centimetres further, the assassination attempt could have ended tragically.
