Pelosi praises Biden as he bows out of 2024 race
Nancy Pelosi stated Joe Biden's decision not to run in the presidential elections. On platform X, she wrote that "God blessed America with Joe Biden’s greatness and goodness".
The former leader of the Democratic Party in the House of Representatives and a longtime ally of Biden was heavily involved in pressuring the incumbent president to step down from seeking re-election.
When Biden announced his decision, she stated understanding and sympathy.
"President Joe Biden is a patriotic American who has always put our country first. His legacy of vision, values and leadership make him one of the most consequential Presidents in American history," Pelosi wrote on platform X.
The former Speaker of the House emphasised, "God blessed America with Joe Biden’s greatness and goodness".
Joe Biden will not seek re-election
On Monday, Biden announced that he was retiring from the presidential race.
He announced his decision on platform X. "I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down," Biden stated.
Shortly after, he wrote that he saw Kamala Harris, the current vice President of the United States, as the Democratic Party candidate.
