Volodymyr Zelensky in his latest interview for Brazilian media stated that Putin is afraid of Ukraine. “I'm certain of it, and he lacks confidence,” said the President of Ukraine.

- Believe me, Putin is very afraid of us – Zelensky stated in the latest interview for Brazilian media. - I'm certain of it, and he lacks confidence. Confident people, who have a large army, great resources do not threaten the world with nuclear weapons. Brave people do not threaten civilization, all living beings. For these reasons, the psychological portrait of Putin is obvious to me. Knowing this, we must firmly stay grounded – he continued.

Zelensky also discussed the problems in his own military. As for fatigue, I won’t lie; it is palpable. We are all humans. Even if you go to a job you love, you come home tired in the evening. But that doesn’t mean you won’t go to work in the morning, he said.

US decision on aid for Ukraine

Zelensky's interview was published at a crucial moment in the debate on further American aid for Ukraine. On Saturday, the United States House of Representatives voted on a bill to provide aid to Ukraine, approving about £50 billion in financial support.

The bill was supported by a decisive majority of congressmen from both parties, with a vote count of 311-112. All Democrats and a portion of Republicans voted for the bill.

The bill will now go to the Senate, where it is likely to be voted on next week. President Joe Biden announced that he would sign the document immediately after its approval.
