On Sunday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced in an interview with the American station NBC that the US House of Representatives adoption of a Ukraine aid package will be a powerful signal to the Kremlin that the United States will stand by Ukraine and that it will not become another Afghanistan.

Volodymyr Zelensky has called Washington to adopt and deliver the Senate aid package swiftly. According to him, this will give Ukraine a chance to win the war with Russia.

Russia's offensive. Ukraine is preparing

He considered the priority task to be transferring anti-aircraft defense systems and long-range weapons, thanks to which Ukraine will not lose soldiers at the front.

The President of Ukraine was also asked about the possibility of a major Russian offensive, to which he replied that the Ukrainian forces are already preparing for it.

On Saturday, the US House of Representatives voted for a $60.8 billion (£48.1 billion) Ukraine aid bill.

$23 billion (£18.2 billion) is for replenishing losses in the American arsenal due to donating equipment to Ukraine, $13.8 billion (£10.9 billion) for purchasing equipment for Ukraine, and £11.3 billion (£8.9 billion) for sustaining US forces in the region.

In addition, the project gives the president the authority to transfer weaponry worth nearly $8 billion (£6.3 billion) in addition to about $4 billion (£3.2 billion) that is still at his disposal.
