Trump's second bid triggers Melania's no‑FLOTUS stance
Donald Trump launched his presidential bid. According to American media, his wife does not envision herself in the role of First Lady. "This isn’t something she wanted and it isn’t something he ever thought he’d win. (...) Melania does not spend much time away from the White House," reads Vanity Fair.

In July, the Republican National Convention announced that Donald Trump had been nominated as the presidential candidate. According to the latest poll published by the New York Times, Trump has a one-point lead over Kamala Harris.
What does Melania Trump think of this? According to an article published in "Vanity Fair," as early as 2017, she hoped her husband would not win the election. "This isn’t something she wanted and it isn’t something he ever thought he’d win. She didn’t want this come hell or high water. I don’t think she thought it was going to happen," we read.
She did not want him to win
In September 1998, Melania Knauss met Donald Trump during an event at the prestigious Kit Kat Club. The future president was then separated from his second wife, Marla Maples. They got engaged in 2004 and married a year later. They had a son, Barron.
Trump was already considering a run for Governor of New York at the time, but the real breakthrough came nearly ten years later. Then, he announced he would run for President of the United States, which did not please his wife. The model enjoyed her life and did not want to participate in politics.
"He is a bit higher than God himself"
The latest polls indicate that Donald Trump may win the next election. Melania, this time, has no intention of performing the duties of the First Lady. Page Six reports that the couple agreed in case of a victory.
"Melania has made a deal with her husband that if he wins the presidency she will not have to be on first lady duty 24/7. (...) She’s a hands-on mother, and is already planning to spend part of every month — and potentially every week — in NYC," we read.
According to Anthony Scaramucci, former White House Communications Director, Melania is "tired of all the nonsense" accompanying the elections. Although rumours of an imminent Trump divorce frequently appear in the media, Raoul Felder, an attorney, claims such a resolution is not in the cards.
