Trump and Harris set for heated debate on September 4

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump announced that he has agreed with Fox News on the date for a debate with the current Vice President and potential Democratic candidate for the White House, Kamala Harris, on September 4th.

"I look forward to meeting and debating Kamala Harris on September 4th. This date is convenient and appropriate in that it is just prior to the September 6th start of Early Voting in the 2024 Presidential Election," Trump wrote on his platform, Truth Social.

Harris, who has already secured enough delegate votes at the Democratic Party convention to become the official candidate for her party in the November presidential election, has not yet responded to Trump's statement.

Fox News is a conservative-leaning television network that traditionally supports Republicans.

Just a day after Joe Biden withdrew from the White House race, it was clear that Kamala Harris was setting records for campaign funds raised. On the 22nd of July, the media noted that donations for Harris had surpassed £39 million. Shortly afterwards, it was revealed that in just 24 hours, she had raised £63 million, and the counter was still running.

On Monday, July 29th, it was reported that in seven days, Democrats had raised £157 million for the campaign. This was emphasised as a huge, record-breaking fundraiser and a historic feat for the still unofficial but certain Democratic Party presidential candidate.

Donald Trump also has reasons to be happy. As "The New York Times" reported, in July, the Republican candidate raised as much as £109 million.
