Trump challenges Starmer with Russian threat question
Donald Trump embarrassed the British Prime Minister during a meeting at the White House. When Keir Starmer extolled the virtues of the alliance with the USA, Trump asked whether the UK "could take on Russia by yourselves." The question amused the journalists present at the press conference and and the US President himself.
The British Prime Minister asserted that the UK-US alliance remains strong and thriving. He emphasized that this partnership plays a vital role in ensuring the prosperity and security of both nations. Starmer also noted that the world recognizes their mutual support in need.
Then Trump interjected. "Could you take on Russia by yourselves?" he asked. "Well," replied a slightly embarrassed Starmer, smiling lightly.
Trump and the journalists behind the cameras were much more amused. In the Fox News recording, following the US President's question, the loud laughter of many people can be heard in the background.

Earlier, the British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, in an article published in "The Telegraph", declared that he is ready to send British troops to Ukraine to enforce the terms of a peace agreement.
Similarly, Maria Malmer Stenergard, the head of Swedish diplomacy, did not rule out sending troops to Ukraine after reaching an agreement with Russia.
Donald Tusk also commented on the matter. The Prime Minister declared that Poland does not envisage sending soldiers to Ukrainian territory.
