Boulos, known for numerous meetings with Arab leaders, has close relationships with different political parties in Lebanon. His connections include, among others, Hezbollah, a Shiite organisation supported by Iran, and the Christian Lebanese Forces party, which opposes Hezbollah.
Massad Boulos also played an important role in Trump’s presidential campaign, helping the Republican Party gain the support of the Muslim minority in swing states like Pennsylvania and Michigan. His involvement contributed to the Party’s success in the elections.
This is the second father-in-law from the family whom Trump has chosen for his administration. On Sunday at 15:00 GMT, the politician announced the intention to nominate Charles Kushner, a controversial figure with a criminal record, as U.S. ambassador to France. Kushner is the father of Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner.
