There are many ways to prepare chicken fillets. However, because we often lack time and want to prepare dinner quickly, we grill them in a pan or fry them in breadcrumbs. This is a compromise: The meal is ready quickly, but the meat tends to be dry.

How to marinate poultry?

Marinating is the simplest way to keep meat moist. We remember to do it when preparing beef or pork but often overlook it when preparing poultry. Unfortunately, chicken is delicate meat that dries out easily. Therefore, it’s worth planning to have enough time to marinate the meat, especially when we want to bake whole chicken breasts.

The importance of marinating time

Unlike pork, marinating chicken doesn't take long. An hour is enough, but if you're not in a rush, leave the poultry in the marinade for up to three hours. The chicken softens quickly and absorbs the flavours, ensuring it is exceptionally juicy after baking.

What should be in a chicken marinade? The recipe is simple. Mix your favourite spices with oil. A sour addition is also vital because it helps the meat soften faster.

Chicken breast in marinade

Ingredients:

  • 1 double chicken breast

For the marinade:

  • Paprika to taste,
  • Thyme to taste,
  • Herb pepper to taste,
  • 1 clove of garlic,
  • Salt and pepper to taste,
  • Favourite chicken spices,
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon juice,
  • 2 tablespoons of oil or olive oil.

Preparation method:

  1. Wash and clean the chicken breast. Cut it in half.
  2. Mix all the spices with the oil or olive oil, then add the lemon juice.
  3. Rub the marinade onto both halves of the breast and set aside in the fridge for an hour.
  4. Then, place them in a roasting bag or a baking dish with a lid. Place in an oven preheated to 180 degrees Celsius.
  5. Bake for about 30 minutes. Then, cut the bag open or remove the lid and bake for another 15 minutes.
