Kamala Harris kicks off campaign with a focus on the middle class, challenges Trump

Kamala Harris is still fighting for the Democratic Party nomination. Although Harris can formally obtain the nomination in the vote scheduled for early August, the US Vice President is already organizing campaign events.

The first official rally was held in the suburbs of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, which could decide the results of the November presidential election in the USA.

Do we want to live in a country of freedom, compassion and rule of law, or a country of chaos, fear and hate? Harris asked, reiterating the message from Monday. And to your point do we want to live in a country of freedom, compassion, and rule of law or a country of chaos, fear, and hate? —  she said just a day before.

Harris emphasised that "Building up the middle class will be a defining goal of my presidency. Because here’s the thing we all here, Wisconsin, know: When our middle class is strong, American is strong," she declared.

She added that she would strive to ensure that everyone "has the opportunity not just to get by but to get ahead," that "no child has to grow up in poverty, where every person can buy a home, start a family, and build wealth, and where every person has access to paid family leave and affordable child care."

Kamala Harris reminded that Trump holds conservative views, among other things, on the issue of access to abortion. — Each person in our nation should have the freedom to live without the terror of gun violence and have reproductive freedom — she stated, committing to "end Donald Trump's extreme agenda."

Trump ready to debate Harris. "She will be easier to defeat"

The Republican candidate also does not forget about his new rival. Donald Trump told reporters on Tuesday that he is willing to participate in more than one debate with Harris. He believes the Democratic candidate will be "easier" to defeat than Joe Biden.

Trump also argued that Harris is "much more radical" than Biden.
