At the 2025 Grammy ceremony, held on 2 February, Chris Martin of Coldplay honoured the late Liam Payne. Payne, a former member of One Direction, passed away in October 2024 at the age of 31. Martin delivered an emotional performance of "All My Love," with a video commemorating Payne shown in the background.

In the background, words from the late artist were also played. "We never expected any of this to happen... If you actually sit and think about it, we've done some amazing things."

During the "In Memoriam" segment, other deceased stars, such as Cissy Houston, Wayne Osmond, Kris Kristofferson, and Dickey Betts, were mentioned. Earlier, respects were paid to Quincy Jones, who passed away on 3 November 2024 at 91. Stevie Wonder and other artists honoured his musical legacy.

The 2025 Grammy ceremony also served as an opportunity to show solidarity with the victims of the fires in Los Angeles on January 7, 2025. The disaster killed 29 people, and thousands lost their homes. The Recording Academy and MusiCare's Los Angeles Fire Relief Effort initiated a fundraiser to help those affected.

Controversies were not absent either. The social elite, including Kanye West and his wife Bianca Censori, attended the gala. The Australian initially appeared on the red carpet wearing a coat, then removed it to reveal her nude body. According to foreign media reports, the couple was said to have been removed from the event.
