Trump hints at progress in Ukraine talks, backs Musk's agency role
Donald Trump has stated that discussions concerning Ukraine are going "quite well" and that he has scheduled talks on this issue "with various parties". During a ten-minute meeting with journalists, Trump addressed a range of issues from recent days.
During the meeting with journalists at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland, Trump noted that he plans to have talks with various parties, including Ukraine and Russia. However, he did not provide details regarding these discussions.
"We’re dealing with Ukraine and Russia, we have meetings and talks scheduled with various parties, including Ukraine and Russia. And I think those discussions are actually going pretty well," reported the President of the United States.
Supported Musk's actions
The President also addressed Elon Musk's actions. Despite having no formal role, Musk took control of several government agencies, including the Treasury Department's payment system, and began halting what he deemed illegal budget disbursements, including foreign aid.
Trump said Musk is doing a good job, although he noted they will not always agree. However, he concurred with the billionaire's assessment of the USAID agency—currently the main target of Musk's criticism—which he believes was previously led by "radically left-wing lunatics."
Trump also announced the suspension of aid to South Africa - Musk's homeland - for "terrible" actions against white farmers.
