Zelensky warns Putin: Fear direct talks with Ukraine
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, gave an interview to the Associated Press agency. In the discussion, he revealed, among other things, what Vladimir Putin should fear the most.
In the interview with the Associated Press on Sunday, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky spoke about the current situation of the war. - We are fighting, we are living, we are doing everything to bring peace closer. We are closer to it than ever in these three years of war - he stated.
Zelensky also disclosed that he anticipates a visit soon from Donald Trump's special envoy for Russia and Ukraine, Keith Kellogg.
Addressing media reports about Donald Trump's interactions with Vladimir Putin, Zelensky stressed that no discussions about Ukraine can occur without its involvement. He also remarked that "they can have their own relationship, but talking about Ukraine without us can be very dangerous for everyone."
"He cannot admit this"
The President of Ukraine also expressed his views on Putin's fears. According to him, the Russian leader should fear direct negotiations with Ukraine and will do everything possible to present it as a conflict between Russia and the West.
- He did not defeat Ukraine, which means he will lose. And he cannot admit this - Zelensky stated, adding that Putin will avoid the prospect of ending the war with Ukraine at the negotiating table in Ukraine by inventing various reasons.
However, the Ukrainian president expressed hope that continued support for the Ukrainian army and sanctions targeting the Russian energy and banking sectors will compel Putin to negotiate.
