Simple solutions often work best. Sometimes, all it takes is a glance in the kitchen cupboard to find inexpensive and effective remedies for many ailments. Want to enhance digestion? Try coffee with cloves.

Cloves aren't just for gingerbread

Cloves are a spice particularly popular during the Christmas season. They significantly influence the distinctive aroma of gingerbread. However, it's worth remembering them throughout the year. Cloves positively affect digestion, alleviate stomach pains, and support stomach function. They stimulate digestive enzymes, easing digestion and preventing feelings of heaviness after meals. The health benefits of this spice are mainly due to eugenol, which has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties.

Important!

Cloves also help improve immunity, ease migraine headaches, and relieve toothaches. They contain many vitamins, such as A, K, E, D, C, and B-group vitamins, along with minerals like potassium, calcium, manganese, zinc, phosphorus, sodium, folic acid, selenium, and magnesium.

When to try coffee with cloves

Cloves need a few minutes to release their aroma. You can add whole cloves to your coffee, with just three needed for a cup of hot coffee. Cover the cup and after 2–3 minutes, the drink is ready. Ground cloves work just as well. You can add a pinch of the spice to the coffee or the ground coffee beans. The most effective brew will be unsweetened. The coffee will develop a deep, spicy aroma and quickly soothe digestive issues. It's also beneficial to drink during a cold.
