Russia has sent experienced soldiers to North Korea, officially for treatment. However, analysts suggest that the real purpose is the exchange of military experiences.

The Russian ambassador to North Korea, Alexander Matsegora, reported that Moscow has sent "hundreds" of injured soldiers for rehabilitation to the DPRK. According to him, North Korea rejected Russia's proposal for financial compensation for the care of the soldiers.

The Institute for the Study of War states that the Russian military command was supposed to send the injured soldiers back to assault groups without proper treatment. This undermines Russia's official statements about sending soldiers abroad for medical reasons.

Military cooperation with North Korea

Analysts indicate that the presence of experienced Russian military personnel in North Korea may serve in collaboration with the local armed forces. Soldiers may be sharing experiences gained during the conflict in Ukraine.

A day earlier, the Reuters agency reported that North Korea is using the war in Ukraine to test its missile technology. The accuracy of North Korean ballistic missiles has significantly improved. This may be related to the exchange of experiences with Russian military personnel.
