Russian and Ukrainian Telegram channels reported sounds of explosions near Dzhankoy and Krasnoperekopsk in northern Crimea, as well as near the town of Saky in the west.

A short while later, an alert was announced in Sevastopol, in the south of the peninsula, and the Russian governor of the city, Mikhail Razvozhayev, stated that it was the result of a "ballistic attack".

The alert lasted only thirty minutes. Residents reported at least three explosions near Dzhankoy that shook houses, and one near Saky.

Near both of these locations, there are Russian air bases that have been attacked multiple times by Ukrainians in the past.

Russian MOD: Air defence shot down 24 Ukrainian drones

As of now, it is unknown what effect the night attack on Crimea had. The Russian authorities remain silent. The Ukrainian side also has not yet reported what happened.

Not only in Crimea did air raid sirens blare during the night. They were also announced in the Kursk, Bryansk, Belgorod, Oryol, Rostov, and Nizhny Novgorod regions.

In a morning communiqué, the Russian MOD boasted that air defence destroyed 24 Ukrainian drones there overnight.
