According to the industry report, the Ukrainian government has obtained £20 million this year to support the development of startups in its defence sector. Several newly formed local companies are already demonstrating world-class accomplishments.
Ukraine is attempting to attract foreign capital, seeing investments not only as a source of funding but also as a guarantee of security and a means of expanding into global sales markets.

Some Ukrainian companies already boast advanced technologies. Examples include Piranha-Tech, which developed advanced electronic warfare systems, and Skiftech, which created tactical simulators using laser technology.
Ukraine counts on Western help
The military aid from the USA to Ukraine, amounting to £6.6 billion, should suffice for Kyiv until February 2025, when the USA will have a new president. Until then, Ukraine cannot afford an offensive, assessed analysts Jacek Tarociński and Andrzej Kohut from the Centre for Eastern Studies.
Biden also announced that Ukraine would receive AGM-154 JSOW, which are glide bombs similar to guided bombs. While guided weapons are typically constructed by outfitting regular bombs with guidance kits in the US and Allied air forces, JSOW was built from scratch to hit targets precisely—it has guidance devices and small folding wings but no engine, so it approaches the target like a glider.
After talks with Zelensky, Biden also announced that Americans would train 18 Ukrainian pilots on F-16 multi-role fighters.
