Kanye West faces lawsuit over alleged music video assault
Model Jenny An has sued Kanye West. The rapper is accused of assaulting her on the set of a music video filmed in 2010.
Kanye West is certainly one of the most controversial artists. The former husband of Kim Kardashian is a regular media favourite due to his distinctive behaviour. Practically every week, there are reports online and in the tabloids about the rapper's latest issues.
Undoubtedly, his relationship with his beloved Bianca Censori has provoked the most discussion recently. The couple attracts attention wherever they go. Probably everyone has heard about Bianca's daring outfits, allegedly designed by the rapper himself.
Kanye West sued
The rapper is facing additional problems which will certainly not go unnoticed. Foreign media report that model Jenn An decided to file a federal lawsuit against West a few days ago. The rapper is accused of committing sexual assault on her. The incident allegedly occurred in 2010 at the Chelsea Hotel in New York while filming the video for La Roux's "In for the Kill".
According to Page Six, the star made a guest appearance on the song's remix, and during the video shoot, he "took control of the production and the production team." He instructed the models to stand in the hallway and then chose Jenn An. The model herself recalls feeling "uncomfortable" at that time. She believes the rapper picked her because she was only wearing lingerie.
Model reveals the reality of working with the rapper
It turns out that this was just the start of her ordeal. As established by "Rolling Stone" magazine, when the model was in front of the camera, the rapper began to choke her and gag her mouth before forcing her to simulate sexual activity. Jenn An stated that everything resembled BDSM scenes. During the act, West shouted that it was "art," and he was "like Picasso."
On camera, the accused West began to choke the plaintiff with one hand, then wrapped his other hand around her neck and continued choking with both hands. He then pushed several fingers down her throat and gagged her as well - reads the indictment cited by "Rolling Stone".
The plaintiff struggled to breathe and felt as though she momentarily lost consciousness. When the defendant, West, concluded he was done with the plaintiff, her face was covered in saliva and smeared makeup - it added.
The aforementioned scene never made it into the official "In for the Kill" music video by La Roux. As noted by "Rolling Stone" magazine, Jenn An, in her lawsuit, has also chosen to accuse Universal Music Group, claiming the company employing West "did not investigate the matter". It also did not take any actions to resolve the situation.
