Trump's 'signature saw' divides the Western alliance
On Russian state television, member of the Russian Academic Security Council, Sergey Luzjanin, compared Donald Trump's signature to "a saw with which Trump is cutting through the Western world." Russian propagandist Yevgeny Popov remarked that, in doing so, the US President is "taking away their bread and butter."
The Munich Security Conference will take place from 14th to 16th February. Trump's special envoy for Russia and Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, will unveil the US President's administration plan in Munich to end the three-year conflict in Ukraine.
Pete Hegseth, the new US Secretary of Defense, also plans to visit Europe. He is scheduled to meet with NATO allies. On 12th February, he will attend the Ramstein meeting in Brussels.
Many reports provided by Russian state media or Kremlin officials are likely not true. Such reports may be elements of an information war by the Russian Federation.
The policy of the United States towards Ukraine was discussed on Kremlin television. Correspondent Anastasia Popova mentioned that "now the Europeans will have to bear this conflict themselves." She stated, "Americans who came here said that the goal is to shift all of this onto the Europeans' shoulders because they are Europe's neighbours, and Europe must deal with it."
- For now, everyone is holding their breath in anticipation of Friday's meeting in Munich. They will wait and see what Trump decides. For the time being, they will continue their usual logic, waiting for what the "decision-maker" will say and somehow try to manage - she added.
Also participating in the programme was a member of the Russian Academic Security Council, Sergey Luzjanin, who believes the most important issue is Hegseth's "3 times 'no'.
- "No" to American arms supplies to Ukraine. "No" to Hegseth meeting with the Ukrainian delegation. "No" to potential escalation of this conflict - said Luzjanin.
"Trump is cutting through the Western world"
According to a member of the Russian Academic Security Council, " the symbol of America's global politics is Trump's crazy, extraordinarily long signature." He continued, It looks like the radiogram of a sick heart, stretching for over a kilometre, with many jagged angles, like a saw with which Trump is cutting through the Western world. One piece is Canadian, the other European. We'll see how effective his saw will be - he said.
- Essentially, he's taking away our bread and butter. We wanted to cut the Western world into pieces, but he (Trump - ed.) decided to saw it himself - interrupted Russian propagandist Yevgeny Popov. - It's an amazing thing - he summarised.
