Trump taps Elon Musk for defence, education overhaul plan

US President Donald Trump presented a report on the first weeks of his term during his attendance at the Super Bowl in New Orleans. He also announced plans for the coming weeks, including commissioning Elon Musk to analyse the Departments of Defence and Education.

Donald Trump, using his presence at the Super Bowl in New Orleans, gave an interview to Fox News in which he expressed surprise at being the first president to participate in this popular sporting event. The president emphasised the importance of reducing federal expenditures and praised Elon Musk for his involvement in the administration's efforts.

We will find hundreds of billions of dollars in fraud and abuse – Trump emphasised, as quoted by the Polish Press Agency, highlighting the planned analysis of the Departments of Education and Defence.

Elon Musk, head of the Department of State Efficiency, aims to improve the administration's functioning by identifying irregularities. The president added that he expects the changes introduced since his return to the White House three weeks ago to continue. During the ceremony before the game started, Trump honored first responders and the families of the victims of the January terrorist attack on Bourbon Street in New Orleans.

Trump's presence at the Super Bowl was met with an enthusiastic reception. During the national anthem, standing next to his daughter Ivanka, the president saluted, and his image on the jumbotron sparked applause. The president left the stadium before the start of the third quarter, heading back to Washington.

The USA Today portal pointed out an incident where a man with a Palestinian flag stormed the field during halftime at the Caesars Superdome. He was detained by security. In the NFL league final, the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40–22, winning the championship title.
