Royal schooling dilemma: Day school visit ignites speculation
Media speculate whether Duchess Kate intends to send Prince George to a day school in North London. She was seen touring the facility where a term costs £10,000.
The Duchess of Wales was seen visiting two elite schools in North London, sparking rumours that she might be looking for a school for her son.
Duchess Kate was seen at University College School (UCS) in Hampstead, where a term costs £10,000. The Duchess's visit took place just after the school closed for the Christmas holidays.
In the same week, Highgate School, located approximately 3 kilometres away, was closed—allegedly due to a visit by a "special VIP visitor," who was thought to be Kate herself.
Will the royal children attend Duchess Kate's alma mater?
Duchess Kate attended Marlborough College in Wiltshire, and it is said to be her first choice for her elder son after he leaves Lambrook School in Berkshire in 18 months.
This does not mean that Duchess Kate and Prince William are not considering other options.
Currently, the whole siblings group: 11-year-old Prince George, 9-year-old Princess Charlotte, and 6-year-old Prince Louis, attend the co-educational Lambrook School. They could attend Marlborough together, which is a co-educational boarding school.
The tuition for Marlborough is £59,000 per year. It is said that the school has already offered a place to Prince George and has room for him in the dormitory. It's a good option because the school knows how to ensure the safety of "royals."
Choosing a day school in North London might be an unexpected choice, but understandable given last year's events that affected Kate.
With the year Catherine has had, she may well have thought to herself that she wants to soak up every drop of George’s childhood and tuck him into bed herself each night, said a "Daily Mail" source.
