Russia's drone assault on Ukraine intensifies near Pokrovsk
Russia dispatched over 60 drones for attacks on Ukraine, of which 43 were shot down and 15 were electronically neutralised. The heaviest fighting is taking place near Pokrovsk.
Russian forces conducted night-time attacks on Ukraine, sending over 60 drones. According to the Kyiv Indepndent, 43 of these were shot down (in the Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Dnipropetrovsk, and Mykolaiv regions), and 15 drones were electronically neutralised.
The most intense fighting occurred near Pokrovsk, where Ukrainian defenders repelled 98 offensive actions by the enemy.
Intense clashes near Pokrovsk
Pokrovsk, a key logistical centre for the Ukrainian army, has been the target of Russian attacks for months. The Russians are attempting to encircle the city by capturing nearby villages, but have not yet reached its centre. The General Staff of Ukraine reports that over the last 24 hours, there have been 199 clashes between Ukrainian and Russian forces.
The Ukrainian Air Force confirmed that the Russians used 61 drones, including Shahed models, in attacks on various regions of Ukraine. 43 drones were shot down in the Poltava, Sumy, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Dnipropetrovsk, and Mykolaiv regions. 15 drones were electronically neutralised.
