Real Madrid's epic comeback sends them to Champions League final

It was a semi-final worthy of a final. In the second leg, Real Madrid trailed 1-0 to Bayern Munich but managed to turn the tide of the competition. Los Blancos ultimately won 2-1 and advanced to the final, with Joselu emerging as their hero. The Spaniard was in tears after the final whistle.

In the first leg of the Champions League semi-final, Bayern Munich only managed a 2-2 draw with Real Madrid on their home turf. Thus, it was only at Santiago Bernabeu that they could secure their advancement to the final.

In the 68th minute, Bayern made a significant move towards achieving this. At that time, Alphonso Davies scored a goal and put the Munich team ahead. Yet, Real Madrid did not give up and started to chase.

A moment later, Los Blancos scored a goal, but Szymon Marciniak annulled it after a video review due to a foul. In the 88th minute, there were no doubts because, after a critical mistake by Manuel Neuer, the substitute striker Joselu put the ball in the net.

The Spaniard eventually became Real's hero. He completed a double that ensured Los Blancos a place in the Champions League final. His second goal came just three minutes after the first one.

Thus, the substitute player secured the Spanish champion a spot in the final of the elite competitions. Therefore, his emotional reaction after the final whistle of the Polish referee is not surprising.
