Puff pastry is one of my favourite food products. It's easy to handle and serves as the foundation for an impressive range of dishes. This versatile, wheat-based sheet has become a marvellous partner in cultivating culinary creativity. The recipe for a tart with puff pastry and minced meat that I want to share with you is, in my humble opinion, the best example of this.

Of course, the benefits of the tart prepared in this way don't end there. Puff pastry is renowned for its important role in various forms at many gatherings. Minced meat wrapped in such a sheet can become a delightful snack at your next family event. So many benefits, so many possibilities! A true dish for all occasions, wouldn’t you agree?

The recipe is incredibly simple and not strict - you can customise it to your liking, add a few more ingredients, and, for example, give the dish a spicy twist. Personally, I really appreciate the simplicity presented below, but judge for yourself.

Puff pastry and minced meat tart

Ingredients:

  • 1 packet of puff pastry,
  • 450g of minced meat,
  • 1 onion,
  • 1 courgette,
  • 2 cloves of garlic,
  • Salt,
  • Pepper,
  • Dried marjoram,
  • Olive oil.

For the top:

  • 2 eggs,
  • 100g of yellow cheese in a block,
  • 200ml of 18% cream.

Method:

  1. First, I bake the puff pastry. I line a tart pan with it, prick it with a fork (to prevent it from rising), and cover it with baking paper. Adding some weight is advisable to hold the pastry in place. I place the prepared pastry in an oven preheated to 180°C for about 12 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, I sauté the chopped onion and garlic in a small amount of fat, then add the courgette.
  3. After a few minutes, I also add the minced meat and spices to the pan. I mix everything together, and when the meat is cooked, I remove it from the heat.
  4. I spread the prepared filling onto the pre-baked puff pastry.
  5. I crack the eggs into a bowl, mix with the cream and grated cheese. I season with salt and pepper, mix, and pour over the minced meat in the puff pastry.
  6. I bake for 25 minutes at 180°C. Done!
