The Invictus Games are international sports competitions for wounded, injured, or sick armed services personnel and veterans. Prince Harry founded them and first held them in London in 2014. "Invictus" means "undefeated" in Latin, highlighting the contestants' resilience and determination.
The competitions feature a range of sports, including athletics, swimming, sitting volleyball, rowing, and wheelchair rugby. The Invictus Games are not only a platform for sporting competition but also a significant event supporting veterans' rehabilitation, mental health, and social reintegration.
Prince Harry confirmed his return to Great Britain for the 10th anniversary of the Games. This visit will be his first since February, when he saw his father after King Charles announced his cancer diagnosis.
According to the BBC, Harry will attend a thanksgiving service at St. Paul's Cathedral in London on May 8, where he is expected to speak alongside actor Damian Lewis.
There's no confirmation yet if his wife Meghan Markle will accompany him from Montecito, California. Notably, May 6 is Archie's 5th birthday.
Will Harry meet with William?
Andrew Pierce from Daily Mail commented on "The Reaction", showing that "there is no chance" of William meeting his brother Harry in London. Given Duchess Kate's cancer treatment and the stir caused by Harry's revealing book, particularly his autobiography "Spare", he suggested it's unlikely.
It's still uncertain whether Harry and Charles will meet. As a reminder, the 75-year-old King resumed his public duties recently, visiting a chemotherapy unit in a London hospital and interacting with numerous cancer patients.
The possibility of a meeting between father and son is still up in the air, considering their strained relationship, Harry's difficult departure from royal life, and his issues with his brother and Duchess Kate. It's rumoured that Harry will opt to stay in a hotel rather than at a royal residence.
