It's a bit like coffee ice cream, but the foam becomes the base for preparing delicious, frozen coffee. The recipe appears very simple because you just need to blend instant coffee with water and sugar, freeze it, and add it to cold milk. It looks promising, and on hot days, any form of cooling down is worth its weight in gold.
Frozen coffee in foam form
This recipe is reminiscent of dalgona coffee, which ruled the internet a few years ago and quickly became viral. The frozen version looks even more tempting, and by preparing a larger supply, you can make a refreshing drink in no time.
Frozen dalgona coffee
The idea of freezing coffee foam looked interesting enough that we decided to test it. Is it worth freezing instant coffee?
Ingredients:
- 35 grams of instant coffee,
- 200 grams of sugar,
- 115 millilitres of hot water.
Other ingredients:
- 140 millilitres of milk,
- ice cubes.
Preparation method:
Step 1. Pour the instant coffee and sugar into a bowl. Add the hot water and blend everything until a fluffy, light foam forms. This will take about 8 minutes, so it's worth being a bit patient.
Step 2. Transfer the foam into a container, seal it, and place it in the freezer overnight.
Step 3. Put ice cubes into a tall glass and pour in the milk. Add the frozen coffee and stir.
The ready coffee will appeal to fans of very sweet flavours. However, if you prefer more balanced tastes, reducing the amount of sugar would be a better option.
It's velvety but a bit too sweet, so I would add less sugar than in the trending recipe. It's perfect for hot days.
