Most of us are inclined to flee at the sight of them. Not only do they appear unfriendly, but they can also carry numerous dangerous diseases, such as salmonella and even rabies. It is no surprise that as soon as we detect them in our homes, we wish to eliminate them swiftly. Here is our advice on how to achieve this.
What attracts mice to the house?
Mice in the house should be unsurprising to anyone. After all, they seek a place to overwinter as the cooler days arrive. Although they are wary of humans and flee in panic at the sight of us, we may encounter them unexpectedly. It is not without reason that they are drawn to garages, pantries, and basements. These locations offer them easy access to food.
This is why, if you wish to prevent them from visiting your home, it is essential to store food in tightly sealed containers. Ensuring rodents do not have access makes our home less appealing to them as a place to live.
Food scraps and crumbs also attract them. Regular and thorough cleaning will help us minimise the risk of crumbs being left on the floor or countertop, thus depriving them of anything to feast on.
A home method for getting rid of mice from the house
There are many proven methods to quickly eliminate mice from the house. Often, we resort to traps or poisons available in shops. However, rather than spending money on such things, it's worth using something most of us already have in the kitchen.
For this, we need crushed instant noodle pasta, which should be sprinkled with a little sugar and baking soda. The first two products serve as bait for the mice, while the latter causes the rodents to produce more gas. After consuming this mixture, these creatures should quickly disappear from our homes.
