Fans of Formula 1, especially Ferrari enthusiasts, are used to watching the speeding red cars race around the world's tracks. They are in for quite a surprise at the upcoming Grand Prix in Florida. Ferrari is changing its colour to blue.

The upcoming Miami Grand Prix, taking place on the weekend of 3-5 May, holds special significance for Ferrari because of the event's atmosphere and as it marks their 70th anniversary in the United States. In recognition of this milestone, the decision has been made to alter the iconic red colour scheme that is so dear to many fans. The Ferrari cars will sport two shades of blue.

For many, this may come as a shock, but when we delve into the history of this brand, blue was just as significant in racing as red. The colours Azzurro La Plata and Azzurro Dino are the shades of blue that have graced drivers and mechanics on the world's tracks in the past. The lighter Azzurro La Plata, which reflects Argentina's colours, was worn by Alberto Ascari during some of his greatest achievements. The darker shade, Azzurro Dino, was favoured by several drivers in the past, including Arturo Merzario and Clay Regazzoni. For now, Ferrari is merely building anticipation, as the reveal of the car's new paintwork is set for just before the race weekend.
