Maintaining cleanliness at home is quite a challenge, especially when various daily stains appear on the floors. Homemade methods for cleaning floors are an ideal solution for those who appreciate eco-friendly and effective cleaning methods. Here are some simple ways to take care of your floors.

What is the best way to clean floors?

You don't need to buy specialised products to make your floor shine. Just use the ones you already have at home. These are products intended for the washing machine and dishwasher, specifically - fabric conditioner and dishwasher rinse aid.

You need to take one measure of fabric conditioner and two measures of dishwasher rinse aid and add them to a container or bucket filled with hot water. Soak the mop in the mixture and scrub the panels. It's best to clean the floors with this homemade solution about twice a week.

Homemade floor cleaning solutions

One of the simplest and most effective homemade methods for cleaning floors is also using water with vinegar. This method is not only eco-friendly but also economical. Vinegar has antibacterial and antifungal properties, which makes it an excellent cleaning agent for various floor surfaces.

To prepare the cleaning solution, simply mix about 120 millilitres of vinegar with a litre of warm water. Soak the mop in the solution and thoroughly clean the floor. Vinegar effectively deals with greasy stains and food residues.

Another proven method for cleaning floors is bicarbonate of soda and lemon juice. These two ingredients, available in every kitchen, can work wonders together.

Bicarbonate of soda is an excellent abrasive that effectively removes stubborn stains and neutralises unpleasant odours. Lemon juice has bleaching and polishing properties, making the floor look like new. To prepare the cleaning mixture, mix about 120 millilitres of lemon juice with a bit of bicarbonate of soda. Apply this paste to the stained areas and then wipe with a mop.
