Call for inquiry into German government's Nord stream knowledge
On Saturday, Sahra Wagenknecht, leader of the German left-wing party BSW, called for establishing a parliamentary investigative committee in the Bundestag to clarify the German government's involvement in incidents related to the Nord Stream gas pipeline. Wagenknecht emphasised that the committee should investigate what information the German authorities had and when they learned about the attack plans.

"If it turns out that the German authorities knew about the attack plan in advance, we will have the scandal of the century in German politics," said Wagenknecht.
"The Nord Stream sabotage was a terrorist attack on our energy supply. The fact that the German government has still not done anything to clarify the situation strengthens the suspicion that the ruling coalition was involved in the scandal," - she added.
Explosions on Nord Stream
Information about the actions of the German federal prosecutor's office, which is searching for a Ukrainian citizen suspected of sabotaging the Nord Stream gas pipeline two years ago and two other Ukrainians (a man and a woman) implicated in the case, appeared in the German media on Wednesday.
On 26 September 2022, three of the four lines of the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines were destroyed at a depth of about 260 feet on the Baltic Sea floor. For years, a large portion of Russian natural gas for Germany was delivered directly through Nord Stream 1.
The Alliance of Sahra Wagenknecht (BSW), founded as a party at the beginning of this year, is known for its critical stance towards Germany's support for Ukraine and shows sympathy towards Russia. Sahra Wagenknecht has repeatedly declared her pro-Russian sympathies.
