There was a fire in the "Remy City" shopping centre in Khabarovsk, in the Asian part of Russia. According to media reports, 270 people were evacuated, and the fire consumed approximately 1,100 square metres of the facility's area.

According to official data from the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations, the fire broke out on Saturday at 12:20 local time (Friday at 2:20 AM GMT). At least 270 people were evacuated.

Rescue services reported that the fire covered an area of about 1,100 square metres of the centre. "Firefighters managed to extinguish the open fire. According to official information, the roof of the building was in flames," reads on the Russian-language portal "Vot Tak!", which belongs to Belsat.

According to one of the local channels on Telegram, the fire started above a pizzeria in the flood zone. Then, the element spread. These are unofficial information - emphasize "Vot Tak!".

Recordings published on social media show plumes of black smoke rising above the object.

This is another fire in recent months in a shopping centre or warehouse in Russia. At the beginning of the year, a fire broke out in the warehouses of the Wildberries company, located near St. Petersburg. The fire then consumed a vast area of approximately 50,000 square metres. The damage was said to be about 10 billion rubles.

"Vot Tak!" reminds us that in 2023, Russia recorded 350,000 fires, in which more than 7,000 people died.

Forest fires are currently occurring in the Khabarovsk Territory, located in the southeastern region of the Asian country. Over several days, the fire has consumed nearly 50,000 hectares of forests.
