Anne Hathaway's apology: Revisiting a viral interview
Over ten years ago, Kjersti Flaa conducted an interview with Anne Hathaway, which was not very successful due to the actress's behaviour. The journalist admitted that, years later, the actress emailed her an apology. This occurred after a fragment of the conversation appeared online.
Kjersti Flaa gained attention due to an interview with Blake Lively. The Norwegian reporter was treated poorly by the actress, which she only revealed years later. The celebrity faced significant criticism at the time. It turns out this wasn't the only challenging conversation Kjersti, who works in show business, had the chance to conduct.
In 2012, Kjersti Flaa interviewed Anne Hathaway while promoting "Les Misérables". Years later, the conversation came into the spotlight again. The reporter decided to discuss her experiences with the star, who was reportedly dismissive during the meeting. Naturally, this caused quite a sensation, and the video immediately went viral online.
Anne Hathaway apologises for her behaviour
The recording of the unsatisfactory interview reached the concerned celebrity. Anne decided to contact the interviewer to apologise and explain her inappropriate behaviour from years ago. In a video posted on social media, the journalist confessed that she was surprised by the star's reaction. She did not hide that she was also grateful for the kind message from Hathaway.
I have to say, I was pretty shocked. (...) I had not expected her to reach out to me at all. I thought she was never going to even see that video, but she did and she did something pretty amazing - she stated.
During the mentioned interview, Anne Hathaway gave short and dismissive answers to questions posed by Kjersti. Over ten years later, she told the journalist about the difficult times she was experiencing back then. The two not only forgave the situation from years ago but also agreed on a joint conversation for the actress's new film.
Just talking about it makes me almost teary-eyed because I was just so grateful that she did that. And it was a very personal note. We decided that I wouldn't share exactly what was in the email, but I just wanted to share with you guys what she did. I have so much respect for people who own up to their mistakes and say they're sorry. Sorry is such a powerful word - the journalist confessed.
