Zelensky to press Biden for support on four-point victory plan
Volodymyr Zelensky is scheduled to meet with the President of the United States, Joe Biden, this week. The President of Ukraine has presented his four-point plan to lead Ukraine to victory in the ongoing war with Russia. The British newspaper The Times reported on Monday on this initiative.

Zelensky's visit to the USA began with participation in a session of the UN General Assembly, where the President of Ukraine had the opportunity to meet with leaders from all over the world. However, the key point of this visit is a meeting at the White House with Biden, during which steps to end the conflict will be discussed.
According to "The Times," Zelensky's four-point plan includes: securing security guarantees from the West similar to those that apply to NATO members, continuing military operations in Russia's Kursk region, acquiring modern, advanced weapons, and obtaining international financial aid to rebuild Ukraine's economy, which the war has destroyed.
Ukraine's historic mission – swift support is crucial
Zelensky emphasises that this plan requires swift support from Biden and other Western leaders. The Ukrainian president noted that the goal is to achieve a strong negotiating position by the end of the year.
I think this is a historical mission. Let’s do all this today, while all the officials who want the victory of Ukraine are in official positions – said Volodymyr Zelensky.
One of Zelensky's goals is also securing "Trump-resistant" support from the USA. This is related to emerging voices within the Republican camp, including presidential candidates such as Donald Trump and his potential vice president, J.D. Vance, who suggest that the conflict could be ended through territorial concessions to Russia. The Ukrainian authorities categorically reject such proposals.
Although Zelensky does not intend to reveal the full details of his plan before the Thursday meeting with Biden, "The Times" reports that the President of Ukraine also plans to present his proposals to Trump and Kamala Harris – the current Vice President of the USA and a candidate in the presidential elections.
No chance of quickly pushing Russians out of Ukraine
Military analysts and diplomats indicate that in the near future, Ukraine has no real chance of displacing Russian troops from the occupied territories in the east of the country. The current goal is to maintain Ukraine's combat capabilities and to continue fighting until Russia is forced to negotiate.
A NATO diplomat, quoted by The Times, admitted that any peace talks would be "very, very, very complicated and painful for Ukraine." Freezing the conflict along the current front lines, as proposed by Vance, would be "a catastrophic outcome," and Ukraine cannot agree to such conditions.
Thus, Zelensky's proposal, directed at Western leaders, including Biden, is crucial in the context of the future of the war and negotiations with Russia. Ukraine aims to gain an advantage on the international stage before the time comes for talks on ending the conflict.
