The popular messaging app WhatsApp will be enhanced with an additional feature soon. In groups, there will be an "Events" option, streamlining the process of organizing meetings.

The feature that WhatsApp is planning to introduce is already familiar to Facebook users. It allows one person to create an event, describe it, and set its date and time. Other members can join the event, and if they do, they will receive an automatic reminder before it begins.

This "Events" feature will also soon be available in the WhatsApp messenger, owned by Meta, the same company that owns Facebook. This is not the first instance of Meta integrating tools from its other platforms into its services.

Meta analysts have observed an increasing interest in group chats and the "Communities" feature, which has been available for a while. By encouraging WhatsApp users to create and participate in events, the company aims to boost user engagement within the app.

The upcoming feature will support the organization of events happening both offline and online. It will facilitate setting up discussions or video chats directly within the WhatsApp application. Group members will have the option to respond to the event invitations.

When a group member creates an event, it will appear as a message visible to all members of the group. This will be placed at the top of the app window, ensuring it remains easily visible and accessible.

The launch date for this new feature is not yet confirmed, but Meta plans to roll it out gradually to different user groups. Therefore, patience is advised. The new feature will be accessible both on the mobile app and on the WhatsApp desktop version.
