"People don’t realize just how brilliant she is." She can digest 1,000-page books in hours and "just absorb the information incredibly," J.D. Vance revealed on the "Megyn Kelly Show" podcast in 2020. The future "second lady" not only has an impressive education but also a professional career many could envy.

Who is Usha Vance?

Since Donald Trump announced to the world that J.D. Vance would assume the position of Vice President of the United States, Usha Vance has fully supported her husband in his fight for American votes. She accompanied him on many trips, engaged in various charitable activities, and put her career on hold for him.

She graduated from high school with honours and was accepted to Yale. There, she earned a master's degree in history and later received the Gates Cambridge Scholarship, allowing her to study at the University of Cambridge.

With degrees from some of the best universities in the world, she decided to apply to Yale Law School, where she met her future husband, J.D. Vance, in a discussion group.

Usha Vance's career path also deserves attention - she worked for Chief Justice John Roberts and alongside Brett Kavanaugh in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.

In recent years, she was associated with the law firm Munger, Tolles & Olson in San Francisco, known for its diversity. In early November, Usha Vance resigned from her job.

Did she change her views?

Usha Vance's parents are Indian immigrants. She was born and raised in the suburbs of San Diego. However, she does not forget her roots - she and her husband were married in traditional Indian attire.

"That JD and I could meet, let alone fall in love and marry, is testament to this great country," she said at one of the campaign rallies.

It's worth adding that years ago, Usha Vance was a member of the Democratic Party. Currently, she does not comment on political matters. However, she emphasises that she strongly supports her husband, who is known for his highly conservative stance on issues such as abortion or same-sex unions.
