Volkswagen axes Arteon shooting brake in early shutdown
First, the "coupe" version was discontinued, and now the Shooting Brake estate is following suit. Volkswagen has decided to end the production of the Arteon a year earlier than initially planned.
One of the most stylish modern Volkswagen models is concluding its market presence. More than four years after its production began, the Arteon Shooting Brake is officially being withdrawn from the product range.
This was confirmed by the brand's spokesperson, Andreas G. Schleith, who posted a farewell message on LinkedIn.
"Goodbye, Arteon. I don’t enjoy conveying bad news, but the Volkswagen Arteon is being withdrawn from sale. After eight years of producing the saloon and five for the shooting brake, VW is closing the production line, with nearly 190,000 cars produced," writes Andreas G. Schleith.
There will be no direct successor unless the electric ID.7 fits this role. The decision to discontinue the Arteon is indicative of the group's cost-cutting measures. The T-Roc Cabrio is the next model expected to be withdrawn in the coming months.
