Venezuelan olympic cyclist Daniela Larreal found dead in Las Vegas

Daniela Larreal Chirinos, who represented Venezuela five times at the Olympic Games, was found dead in her flat in Las Vegas.

The probable cause of death was choking on food. According to the autopsy report, food was found in the athlete's trachea, indicating that she died from choking - reports "The Sun". However, the Las Vegas police have not yet confirmed the official cause of the cyclist's death.

Larreal, aged 50, was found by the police, who were called after her colleagues at a local hotel became concerned about her absence from work. Preliminary investigation suggests that she might have been dead for several days.

Larreal was a renowned figure in Venezuelan sports. She participated in the Olympic Games in Barcelona (1992), Atlanta (1996), Sydney (2000), Athens (2004), and London (2012).

Her career, which lasted over twenty years, brought her numerous successes. Over the years, she became one of the most significant figures in track cycling.

This tragic event has shaken the sports community, especially in Venezuela, where Larreal was remembered as one of the country's most outstanding athletes.
