According to the Polish Press Agency, US Secretary of State Marc Rubio's aircraft, scheduled to fly to Munich for a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, had to return to Washington. State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce reported that the reason was a mechanical malfunction.

As per Reuters, the issue was a crack in the cockpit windshield of the C-32 aircraft, a military variant of the Boeing 757. The malfunction forced the plane to return approximately 90 minutes after takeoff. The aircraft landed safely at a military base near Washington on Thursday.

Bruce stated in a press release that the Secretary of State plans to continue his journey to Germany and the Middle East on a different plane.
