Parsley is the tiny leaves of a biennial plant from the celery family, i.e., common parsley. How do you describe its taste? They are pretty spicy, with a detectable salty note. In the kitchen, two varieties of leaves are used – flat-leaf parsley and curly parsley. The former is flat, soft, and has a more intense flavor; the latter is highly fringed but definitely more delicate. More valuable than citrus

Parsley is one of the healthiest products. Moreover, it is readily available and not too expensive. Above all, it contains much more vitamin C than citrus fruits. Parsley also has large amounts of vitamin K, which is responsible for proper blood clotting; vitamin A, which is beneficial for vision; and B, which supports the nervous system.

However, parsley is a vitamin and a good source of minerals. Attention should be paid to calcium, which is beneficial for bones. It also provides magnesium and zinc, which positively affect the skin's condition.

We know plenty of uses for parsley in the kitchen, from salads and spreads to smoothies. But there's another way for parsley to be present in the diet. It's simply parsley water, which is worth drinking every day. Parsley supports the weight loss process because it facilitates body cleansing. It acts as a diuretic. Thanks to it, we get rid of water faster, which protects against swelling.

Good for skin and hair

Parsley water is also a natural cosmetic. Using it as a toner is advisable because it restores a healthy complexion. It also helps to soothe post-acne changes and lighten discolorations. It can also be used as a hair rinse, nourishing and strengthening hair. Do you have a problem with hair falling out? Rub parsley water into the scalp because it improves microcirculation and stimulates hair follicles to grow.

Recipe for parsley water

Ingredients:

  • 6 tablespoons of finely chopped parsley,
  • 1.5 litres (about 6.3 cups) of water at about 70 degrees C,
  • A slice of lemon, honey, and ginger is optional.

How to prepare:

  1. Chop the parsley finely and pour 70 degrees C water over it. Cover and leave it for 10 minutes. If you want less water, prepare 1 tablespoon of chopped parsley for 1 cup.
  2. To improve the taste of the drink, you can add a slice of lemon, ginger, or a teaspoon of honey.
