Unexpected Alpine snowfall blankets Europe, stuns internet users

The Genoa low-pressure system is bringing precipitation to many European countries. This precipitation is not always rain. The media has circulated pictures of snow from the Austrian Alps. "We don't have such winters during our winter," users write in the comments under the photos.

The Genoa low-pressure system is bringing heavy rain to many countries on the old continent. Snow is also appearing. The media have just circulated pictures from Austrian localities where significant amounts of snow have fallen. In the photos posted by the Lubuskie Storm Chasers, you can see a thick layer of snow not only on the ground or roofs of buildings but also on tables and benches in catering establishments.

Meanwhile in the Austrian Alps, Obertauern. Like it's the middle of winter! — reads a comment under one of the photos.

Internet users commenting on the pictures from Obertauern and Südwiener Hutte emphasise their admiration for the winter scenery. "We don't have such winters during our winter," wrote one. "I hope we have such a winter," wrote another, a sentiment that was not isolated.

While some internet users were delighted with the winter postcards from the Austrian Alps, others approached the matter with far less enthusiasm. "It is nothing unusual, it's normal there," claimed one of the commenters.
