In the Kursk region, Ukrainian forces successfully shot down a Russian Mi-8AMTSh helicopter using an FPV drone. The helicopter sustained severe damage and was forced to make an emergency landing. The FPV drone reportedly struck the Mi-8's tail rotor.
A Russian volunteer military group identified by the call sign "PIONIER" on Telegram confirmed this incident.
"Recently, our helicopter came under very heavy fire. A decision was made to land in a safe area due to certain control function violations. The landing was very difficult, but there were no casualties, and the crew was unharmed!" reads a post on Telegram.
Ukraine does not stop
In his Sunday statement, Volodymyr Zelensky announced that the Ukrainian armed forces do not intend to halt their advance in the Kursk region on Russian territory.
"We are advancing in Kursk Oblast – by one to three kilometres. We have taken control of two more settlements. Active operations are underway in another settlement," emphasised Zelensky.
