Following the drone assault on the pumping station of the Caspian pipeline in Russia, oil exports from Kazakhstan fell by 30%. UNITED24 Media reports that infrastructure repairs may take up to two months. Managed by the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, this pipeline is crucial not only for Russia but also for several Western companies with international influence.

Increase in oil prices on global markets

Oil prices have risen after the attack. Brent crude futures went up by 44 cents to $75.66 per barrel, while WTI increased by 91 cents to $71.65. The incident has affected market sentiment, which had been dominated by supply expectations for weeks.

The Caspian Pipeline Consortium labelled the attack as an act of terrorism but did not disclose the origin of the drones. A Ukrainian official, speaking anonymously, acknowledged Kyiv’s involvement. Drones also targeted the Ilsky refinery, known for supplying fuel to Russian military operations.

The Caspian pipeline is the main export route for Kazakh oil, accounting for about 1% of the global supply. Among the shareholders are American companies Chevron and ExxonMobil, as well as British Shell. Analysts predict that oil prices may remain under pressure, despite short-term increases.

Ukrainian drones in action

Ukrainian drones play a crucial role in attacks on Russian territory. These advanced machines are the result of Ukraine's intensive development in military technology.

Drones UJ-22 and Rubaka are also significant elements of Ukraine's arsenal. The UJ-22 can operate in extreme conditions with a range of up to 800 kilometres, carrying payloads of 20 kilograms. The Rubaka, with a range of 500 kilometres, is capable of precise attacks on Russian artillery.

Ukrainian combat drones, as reported by Defense Express, are capable of carrying bombs weighing 250 kilograms. These machines, often modified light aircraft, can be reused multiple times, enhancing their effectiveness. Thanks to optical and targeting systems, these drones strike targets with precision.
