Ukraine unveils dragon drone: Flamethrower UAV ignites russian positions

The Ukrainian Armed Forces have released a video depicting the first use of the "dragon drone." This unmanned aerial vehicle employs a flamethrower to set enemy positions alight. "Russia is in a panic," writes one of the Ukrainian war correspondents.

"Russia is in a panic. Ukrainians have a 'dragon drone.' It targets enemy positions using a flamethrower" writes Ukrainian journalist Andriy Tsapilienko, a war correspondent for TSN.

The video that shocked the world was published on Monday by the 108th Separate Territorial Defence Brigade "No Chance" of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Yurii Butusov, editor-in-chief of Censor.net, commenting on the video of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, noted that it was earlier used by the Russian channel "Rybar," whose sources are close to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

"Such blatant impudence! 'Rybar,' one of the most frequently visited propaganda Telegram channels in the Russian Federation, close to the General Staff of the Russian Ministry of Defence, appropriated the successes of our defenders. When they realised what they had done, they edited the post," writes Butusov.

What do we read in the already edited post of the "Rybar" channel? The channel highlights the rapid revolution in drone construction and the expansion of their functionality.

"A video appeared on the internet showing drones of this type being used in the Northern Military District as a substitute flamethrower system. The device sprays an incendiary mixture on positions in the forested area," writes "Rybar."

"Dragon drone" in action

"The effectiveness of this particular attack may raise doubts, but the product will be refined, along with its ammunition. In this way, everything can be burned with these means instead of using more expensive systems," we read.

The drone was reportedly used in the Zaporizhzhia region. Initially, Russian channels spread the video, claiming that the "dragon drone" was a Russian invention. Only after a few hours did the 108th Ukrainian Brigade admit to its use.

What do we see in the video? A drone with tongues of fire falling from it flies into a wooded area and moves along it. A fiery path forms behind the drone. After a few seconds, the drone disintegrates and explodes, and the fire spreads in all directions.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have not disclosed detailed specifications of the new weapon.
