Since the beginning of September, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been using modified drones to attack Russian positions. The UAVs no longer drop explosives or fly directly into the target but instead set everything in their path on fire.

Russians terrified by Ukraine's new weapon

The substance dropped by the drones is called thermite. It is a powdered mixture of aluminum or magnesium with oxides of certain metals – usually iron. Once ignited, such a mixture burns, releasing a large amount of heat - up to 2500 degrees Celsius. Extinguishing such a fire is very difficult.

Channel 24, which obtained the technical specifications of the UAVs, reported that in just 20 seconds, a drone could set a strip of forest 100 metres long on fire.

The Russians have shown the effects of the "dragon drones" attack for the first time. Two videos lasting over a minute each were published on Russian propaganda channels.

Russian: Everything burned into small pieces

In the first video, a Russian soldier shows Russian positions attacked by Kyiv. - Massacre. Weapons, helmets. Everything is lying here. Cars, trailers, motorcycles, carts. Drones burned. We had their warehouse here. Everything burned into small pieces. Ammunition scattered everywhere. Everything melted - says the Russian.

On Thursday, the Russian section of the BBC noticed that the "dragon drone" attack could cause more damage than a forest fire. If the mixture is sprinkled on military equipment, it can be destroyed. Thermite is also dangerous for a field warehouse, as it will cause it to detonate, writes the BBC.

This is confirmed by a video made by the Russian.

In another recording - by another Russian soldier, we also see the effects of the "dragon drone" attack. The man shows burned ammunition depots, command posts, a medical supply warehouse, a field kitchen, and generators. The man curses. - A tent stood here. It looks quite good, but it is melted - he says in the video.

These are the first recordings showing the effects of the Ukrainian "dragon drones" attack on Russian positions.
