Even the most ardent anti-hip-hop fans have a soft spot for Tyler, The Creator, categorising him more as an artist than a rapper. Is this justified? Probably, as the musician doesn't shy away from experiments and melody, consistently creating in his own style and not succumbing to the pressure of current trends. Alternative rap definitely exists—and he is its face.
The popularity of Tyler, The Creator peaked in 2019 when "IGOR," his fifth studio album, was released. It includes hits like "EARFQUAKE" and "RUNNING OUT OF TIME." Recently and quite unexpectedly, the rapper announced his seventh album titled "Chromakopia," which will be released next Monday, 28th October. The album is promoted by just one single—"NOID." The track was released a few days ago.
Tyler, The Creator to play concerts
Besides the extraordinary and totally unexpected news about the album's release, Tyler, The Creator also announced that he will embark on a concert tour. His tour will start in the USA and end in Australia. The rapper will not reach Asia or South America but will visit Europe.
